Our colleagues will soon be heading to the Days of Heating and Energy, which will take place this year from 27-28 April 2022 in Olomouc. Ing. Jan Krišpín will give a lecture on Thursday, 28 April at 11:45 a.m. on the topic: Does WtE plant have its place in the Green Deal?
You can read the lecture abstract here:
Recent developments in the European Green Deal strategy and taxonomy have made decision making for the medium and long term across the energy and waste management sectors significantly more difficult. Particularly during the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the situation has become even more opaque. One of the most resonant issues remains the definition of the rules of the game in terms of supported and unsupported energy sources and waste management systems. From the point of view of energy security at the national level, the energy recovery of waste seems to be an indispensable aid in the long-term stabilisation of both sectors.
The aim of the presentation is to briefly summarize the current legislative situation in the field of energy recovery from waste and the expected developments in this area, incorporating the effects of the fight against global climate change.
